Weverton, MD 053126

Perfect weather and location for a relatively easy hike – about 2 miles along the Appalachian Trail.

Very rocky and mostly uphill, but the hiking app on my phone promised we would be rewarded for our efforts.

Tick check along the way – lots of ticks in the area and Winston seems to attract his fair share. He’s thoroughly drugged and sprayed, but Brenda always wants to just be sure before he passes them on to us.

Hikers resting at the top of Weverton Cliffs, overlooking the Potomac river.

View from the top/edge of the cliffs.

The hike ate up the morning; we returned to our house for a light lunch and hung around watching some TV until the afternoon. We then took Holden (and the cat) back to his apartment. We ate an early dinner in town, said our goodbyes to Holden and returned to West Virginia for the evening. Tomorrow morning, we start our way towards Chicago.
