After our best night’s sleep in almost a week we were energized to get back out and see the sights.  Our first stop was to “Bird Paradise”, a huge aviary in northern part of the country.

Selfie.  Another 90+ day that left us dripping with sweat; we need to keep retreating to our hotel room to shower up and change clothes between events.

You will get tired of all of the superlatives, but this is easily the best aviary we have ever visited..400 species of birds and 8 huge netted/caged aviaries with raised walkways that let you get really up close.

So I took a lot of bird photos but will only share a few..

This way to the men’s room.

Feeding babies in the nest.

After lunch we headed back to town to walk down some of the streets that were developed during the British colonial times.  They’ve restored many of them and are now shops, restaurants and hotels.

Before coming here I had made dinner reservations for Halloween evening.. at a restaurant that is located on the top of MBS.. the part that spans the three towers.  Tourists can pay something like SG$30 to take an elevator to the top but you can do it for free as long as you dine at one of fancy restaurants.

Brenda about to enjoy her first Singapore Sling.. Invented here in the 1890s by British desperate to drink something cold and alcoholic in the heat… Gin, some liqueurs and fruit juices.. great for keeping the malaria away.

The last shots are some skyline views from the top of MBS.

Our hotel is located in that cluster of high rises to the center-right of the photo.  Construction is everywhere.. the place certainly feels like the future and is clean, energetic and expensive!

The world’s longest elevated swimming pool.  I did some research on the engineering to be able to construct this and hold so much water across this cantilevered platform.. very impressive!
