Today was move-in day to the Upperclassman dormitory on campus – this is the start of Josie’s 3rd year at Salve Regina.

Her new home is Nethercliffe – originally built in 1884 for a retired Princeton professor.  It has been modified to allow 34 girls to live in a variety of room configurations.

Josie is sharing an attic room on the 3rd floor – this was the view just as we arrived and were starting to move stuff in.

The third floor has 3 rooms and 5 girls live here.  They have one shared kitchen, one shared living room and 2 shared bathrooms.

After we unloaded our car full of stuff, we had to drive to a nearby town to get at a small storage locker the girls had rented over the summer to get everything else they left here before heading home last spring.

There wasn’t room in the car for the four of us + dog.. so while Josie, Zoe and I managed retrieving and loading/unloading possessions, Brenda had plenty of time to do the Newport cliff walk and head down to the beach.

The girls’ room after we unloaded all of their junk.  After Brenda and I left later that afternoon, they excitedly spent the rest of the day decorating their place just so.

We did break for lunch and headed to a restaurant on the water that is part of the dockyard and yacht repairing grounds.

After lunch and unloaded, we left the girls to their own schedules.  Brenda, Winston and I got another hotel room in nearby Middletown for the evening.  We then woke up early and started our 2-day drive home.  No more girls and stuffed cars and noise and chaos and fun!
