I have some business meetings to attend in Monterrey and Mexico City this week. To convince Brenda to come with me, I bookended the business talks on a Friday and Monday – giving us a chance to have a weekend of play in Mexico City.

The weekend of fun started off pretty lousy.. the whole Microsoft glitch computer error thing affected flights all day.. ours was delayed and we didn’t get into our hotel room in Mexico City until around 2:00am EST.

We were up early (for Mexicans) and walked around our neighborhood to get our bearings.

Today we went shopping – many informal markets were set up for the weekend – all within walking distance.

A treasure Brenda is bringing home – volcanic molcajete for making guacamole and other salsas. Brenda bought one for Bella when were were in Puerto Vallarta last fall.. and then wished she had purchased two at the time. Finding an authentic vendor of these things was job #1 for her this trip.

In the markets – this one focused on food.

Things are starting to get crowded by the afternoon.
