Brenda and start what will be a two-week trip, combining work and fun together.  We left Atlanta yesterday evening and got into Frankfurt (direct flight) this morning.  We were able to check into our hotel before noon, which gave us a chance to take a shower and get some much needed sleep.  (Even though it’s an 8-hour flight, Brenda didn’t catch a single wink).  Later in the afternoon, we got out and explored the city, found some food and did a little shopping.  Frankfurt isn’t much of a tourist destination, but with the jet-lag and first day jitters in a foreign country, it’s enough adventure for us today.

Inside St. Bartholomew’s Cathedral.  There has been a church here since the 600s.. this building was completed in the 1550s and is one of the few large buildings that survived several British bombings in the spring of 1944.  Most of the center of the town was destroyed at that time.
