Today was travel day – a literal Planes, Trains and Automobiles to get us from Tainan, Taiwan to Seoul, South Korea.
A whole lot of ticket buying, luggage lugging, taxi hailing, money exchanging, meals missing and going from stressed to make schedule to bored with too much time between intervals.
We have had perfect weather this half-month.. no rain and it’s been in the 80’s our entire trip.. until we got into Seoul. The sun is out, but the lows are in the upper 30s (F). It was a bit nippy walking around this morning, but the sun was out an felt great if you could stand in its path.

Taiwan has about 100 motorbikes for every car.

Nobody locks them down. Helmets are left on the handlebars. I suppose that if everyone has one, no one needs to take one.

Catching the bullet train back to Taipei.

We got into our hotel after 7pm – all we had since breakfast was a Snickers bar and coke. Even though tired, we wanted to try authentic Korean Barbecue. I looked up a place within walking distance.
This seemed to fit the bill.

The place was cramped and packed.. and when we walked in everyone stopped what they were doing to stare. All that was missing was the “record-needle-scratch” that they play in the movies. Fortunately a couple were leaving and we got in at the next table. No one spoke English and we didn’t know the process. We managed to finally order some beer and a plate full of various pork cuts and we were off to the races.

Donny demonstrating that he was worked out the process well enough not to go hungry. The rectangular chopsticks were a bit difficult to maneuver.
