Tacoma, WA 071121

Brenda and I spent the week in Washington, doing a little business but mostly play.  We stayed at Rita’s and Randy’s house in Tacoma.

For two nights and three days, we went camping.  We stayed at Lewis and Clark state park near Chehalis.  We had perfect weather.. mild in the mornings (mid 50s) with lots of sunshine and temps in the 80’s by the afternoons.

Here is Rita figuring out how to set up their tent.  They’ve done this many times before, but always has to start over with these things if its been awhile since the last installation.

Drone view of our camping spot.  R&R graciously allowed Brenda and I to stay in their trailer.  We also had three dogs with us to camp, so one of the dogs stayed with us in the trailer, the other two slept in the tent.

Brenda and the pack.

Visiting Coldwater Lake near Mt. St. Helens.

View of Mt. St. Helens.. a lot of clouds at this altitude.  You had to be patient and time your shots to get any of the peak (or what’s left of it..).

Randy waiting for the clouds to break.

Brenda checking out the returning plant life.

Overhead view of Rita and Randy’s house.  Their red Ford pickup is in the center of the photo.  To the left is the trailer (with solar panels) and their house is to the left of the trailer.

We spent one day touring Gig Harbor.. this allowed us to give the dogs a good walking, while also visiting small shops and getting a lunch at the most recommended place in town.

We also visited a lavender farm; Brenda wanted to review the many varieties that can grow here (but won’t grow well in GA).

Gondola in Gig Harbor.

View of Mt. Rainier from the drone over Randy’s house.

Randy figuring out how to work the controls on the drone.  I don’t think he’ll go too many days without owning one himself.
