Friday started off slow for us but things picked up come evening time.
I had work to do Friday morning and so we weren’t “off” to start our weekend until just after lunch. That suited Josie as well – she had homework to take care of. We sat together at the kitchen table and did our calls and typing. Brenda is back on the couch reading.

Josie wanted to go to Newbury Street – a main shopping thoroughfare with a mixture of high end and eclectic shops. We had great difficulty getting down there – we didn’t know that this is the weekend for the Boston Marathon. The streets were packed with tourists buying Marathon merchandise.

This place was more Josie’s speed… full of Japanese Manga and anime and other artsy things.

Josie’s showing Brenda some little toy she bought.

Walking to our dinner spot. We made reservations at a place downtown. Josie is now 21 (she turned in February) and so we got to have our first “official” alcoholic drink with her on this trip.

Josie learned about this speakeasy on one of her websites. This is the storefront. The place looks closed and long abandoned. But if you go ahead and try to go through that door..

You get into a tiny, exclusive club that serves all sorts of strange adult drinks.

The night was complete with tickets to see Beauty and the Beast at the Boston Opera house. Folks are filing in.

Our view of the stage and orchestra pit for the show. Both Brenda and Josie got lucky and had no-one sitting directly in front of them, so the two short girls got fantastic views of the performance.
