Thursday is another travel day for us, making the flight from Beijing to Ningbo. I visited this city last year – where we do business with a company.
The owner is hosting our visit – putting us up in a hotel, driving us around, taking us to dinner & etc.

We got into our hotel in the afternoon, had about an hour to change and then we headed out of town to do a factory tour of their complex. They have about 400 workers and 750,000 sq.ft. of space – making all sorts of indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures and large 20’ to 40’ tall poles for municipal and roadway lighting.

This is precise the kind of factory one sees here when one asks “where did all of that US manufacturing work go?”

In Beijing on the way to the airport – the CCTV building – Central government controlled radio and television headquarters. There are some really striking buildings to see here.

The new Beijing Daxing International airport – built just in 2019 to get ready for the winter olympics that took place here a couple of years later.

One person booth for Karaoke, in case you just need to get in one more croon before you board.

Our hotel in Ningbo .. this is the same place I stayed last year.

After our plant tour, we settled in for a long, traditional Chinese dinner. 10 of us in all with guests from the US, the UK and India as well as the locals.

Presentation of the dishes takes equal prominence to the quality of the food. This dish was a floating “boat” of various fish cuts and a dry ice performance.

Our host knew that I was after another try and their high end Peking Duck dishes. He accommodated me.

Plenty to eat and more than our fair share to drink. The lazy Susan rotates continually, so one just has to wait until the dish they like the looks of gets near by. As always, too much food and a long dinner with many toasts. Very good food and not too many items I chose not to try (e.g. frogs).
