This week I had more projects/meetings in the Boston area.

For extra fun, Josie came along with me.  Since she is still “going to school” online, she was able to set up her area in our hotel and attend classes during the day when I was away.  In the afternoons, we were both free to do some exploring around, shopping & etc.

Josie wanted to see an authentic New England seaside village.. the kind you see as a stereotype in the movies.  We picked Rockport, located north of Boston and near the New Hampshire state line as our destination.

The place was pretty quiet… It’s late Tuesday afternoon in October.. so much of the village has already shut down for the winter.  Add some Corona-plague to the mix and we just about had the place to ourselves.

The original bell tower was destroyed by British cannonballs during the war of 1812.  The bell was ringing to alert the town (then called Cape Ann) of an incoming British frigate the Nymphe.

From the bay, the British took shots at the clocktower to silence the bell and eventually hit it.

On our drive through a scenic area on a peninsula.  Josie has decided that this is the part of the world where she wants to set up stakes.
