Saturday morning was calm and pleasant – we only have a short drive planned today to Sheffield, and since it was Saturday and we’ve now been on the road for a week, it was a good time to recharge batteries (both literally and figuratively), re-pack duffel bags and suitcases, clean up camera lenses and electronic toys & etc. Everyone slept in and I had a chance to take care of some work emails while enjoying morning coffee. The kids are currently watching Saturday morning cartoons.
Leaving Liverpool, we drove through Manchester and over a mountain range into Sheffield. We then headed south to find Sherwood Forest, the stomping grounds of Robin Hood.

Kids in front of the Major Oak, some 1150+ years old and thought to be one of the hideouts of Robin Hood.

My new waterproof The North Face coat that is now my very favorite. Oh, and also Holden posing in one of the oldest forests left in the world.
