Yesterday was fantastic – great weather and the 7 of us put on more than 7 miles by foot all over the city.

After breakfast, we took off to see the Tower of London. We got there not long after they had opened, and for the first hour or so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Very enjoyable. After a couple of hours, the hordes of field trip buses disgorged kids, making the place crowded and a bit unpleasant to get around. We left there shortly thereafter and found some lunch in a marina along the Thames.

After lunch, we took the Underground to Trafalgar Square, spent about an hour in the National Museum (and had to drag Mom out far too early to suit her), then walked from there through Picadilly Circus, along Savile Row, and then toured the posh shops in the Mayfair area.

By then, everyone was exhausted, so we headed home and had wine time at our place. Dad, Isabella and I walked to a local Indian restaurant for some take-away meals and we all ate back at the house. After that, bed!

Josie in one of the demonstration cages left over from when exotic animals were kept at the Tower. All those animals eventually moved into what became the London Zoo.
